As expected, the Vermont Service Center is experiencing some delays due to the new bispecialization and beginning of H-1B filings that took place on April 1, 2006. USCIS was not ready to tackle both bispecialization and the beginning of H-1B filings on the same day. This has caused massive delays in the issuance of I-129 receipts at VSC. Receipts for I-129's filed with the VSC are now taking 2-3 weeks to be issued. If you have recently filed an I-129 application to extend or change to TN status expect delays in the issuance of your receipt. Delays in adjudication should also be expected.
